Vintage streetstyle, post 21: Icuka

Photos sent by Jude. Honestly, not only wasn't I able to choose one (!) of them, I also had the feeling that I would deprive you from the joy of looking at them. They were taken between the 50's and 70's in Slovakia and Hungary, so regard them more of a vintage "In her style", a look at one woman's personal style. She was fierce!

Jude: "These are the pictures of two people that greatly influenced my life. My great uncle Józsi and his wife Icuka met when my great uncle served in the World War II and was sent to Budapest. They were staying at a place where his future wife had been living too. At that time she made money by sewing and repairing soldiers' uniforms. During the war her family got really poor so she worked day and night to make a living. My great uncle was very educated and spoke several languages.
They exchanged many love letters and they are kept by my mom at some secret place. She considers them their privacy, but she read one of them to me and it was really romantic. Later they moved to Komárno in Slovakia and my great uncle worked as a ship engineer. They were very much in love, but unfortunately couldn't have any children. However, they still kept living a happy life and traveled the world. Their love ended tragically when Icuka got cancer and died before I could even meet her. I chose her as my idol because she was a women with style, chic all the time. My mom remembers how she used to lecture her on how a real dame dresses and behaves. My great uncle was also a big influence in my life, he showed me the magic of photography, taught me to play chess and let me know that the only way to drive a car is while wearing leather gloves :-) They had a very stylish apartment and I am more than sure it would have been featured in all the design magazines today."

Fotky poslala Jude. In her style", prierez štýlom jednej ne-nor-mál-ne štýlovej ženy.

Avšak jeden z nich mi prečítala a bolo to naozaj veľmi romantické.
