Librarian girl, NYC streetstyle
She was sitting on the steps of the New York Public Library. I don't know if she's in fact a librarian girl, just made it up, because I like the idea :-) With her geeky reading glasses (there it goes, turtle shell again!), huge bag for books, country girl straw hat and eclectic mix of fabrics and patterns - and in this case I count the tattoo as a pattern too :-) While I am not a big fan of tattoos, even less so on girls, here I feel it is completing the picture of a her personal style.

On a Sunday in Harlem, NYC streetstyle
This very peacefully looking and put together gentleman just gave me a slight nod with which he approved of his picture to be taken. He quietly said only one thing: "Quickly, the boss is coming." When I looked around, I saw nobody fitting the description of a boss. But then, what do I know about Harlem life... Except that on a Sunday it is all about being heavenly beautiful and stylish :-)

Men's shirt, NYC streetstyle
I start to get the feeling that a classic men's shirt with fine stripes goes with everything. And I like that feeling :-)

Amazing week ahead!
So to start off this week that I already feel sooo excited about (and I can promise you it will be unbelievable and epic! :-)) if you are fans of Chictopia on Facebook, you might have seen their actual profile picture. It's from this post about Katarina S., who is a member of the fashion website. The reason for the profile picture is definitely Katarina's allure, but I can't help to feel proud (for her and for Tonbogirl) too! :-)

Inspiration: Rado Fankaras
It's been a while since I did a post on Inspriation. I had these photos stacked in a file, waiting to be posted and this weekend is just the perfect time. After some hectic working time I am spending a weekend all alone. I am sooo looking forward to it :-) With my guy gone for the weekend, some heavy clouds in the sky, some unpacked bags and unfinished books laying around, these pictures are just perfect for right now. For toning down colours, noises, visuals, slowing down to take a breath... Rado is a very talented photographer who takes amazing landscape photos, feel free to dream and breath with me :-) Wishing you all a peaceful weekend!
More about his photos here.

Lenard, NYC streetstyle
Meet Lenard. I met him in Soho, on a cigarette break in front of the Jack Spade shop, where he works. (I love the New York concept of benches in front of shops and cafes where you can chill out and meet people.) Anyway, after he told me he's also the photographer for the brand, I was a bit nervous about shooting him, but I quite like the result :-) I also like his laid back style (I don't know, should I still point out the rolled up sleeves, rolled up jeans look? Kind of obvious by now :-)
You can check out Lenard's web page here.
Oh, and here come the bicycles again... What's more, here comes Friday - no wonder it rhymes with Hooray! So have a great one!

Sunny side up, Pohoda festival style
This lovely girl was wearing a sort of hippie green summer dress, a hat that I think I saw on other people as well, a simple bag and aviators... just your basic summer festival stuff, but what hold it together and sold it to me was her: a sunny girl with braids and a beautiful smile.
I would also like to use this post as a warm Welcome! to all the new readers and friends of Tonbogirl, it is really great to have you here, appreciate your time, enjoy! :-)

Daniela and Filip, NYC streetstyle
A model and a dancer. Both Czech, both living and working in NYC, met both by chance on their way to a Mark Jacobs store. I think we were all taken by surprise by the accidental meeting among millions of people :-) We chatted for a while, took pictures (while goofing around) as seen below :-) and said goodbye.
Style note 1: I think her leopard onesie is a nice example that this piece of garment is really reserved for perfectly thin models, fashion stories or cute babies. I am sorry, I just see too many rompers worn in strange ways.
Style note 2: with classic pieces like Ray Bans and a denim shirt, guys can do no wrong. Even if they don't look like Greek gods :-)
Side note: Thanks to Anonymous for updating me on the girl's name, she's not Dasa (as I first thought and posted) but Daniela.
