Blogger's delight 2012

A small, nostalgic recap of 2012's top blogger moments for me:
Malá nostalgia nad top blogerskými momentami roku 2012, ta-dáááám:

1. Personally, it was certainly the honor of being invited as the guest speaker at The Hive - the first European blog conference in Berlin (photo above from the morning hipster coffee at the Betahaus) - and all the inspiration and people I met there: Radostina from Prague and the fabulous interior design blog 79 ideas, Eleni from Greece and her lovely design blog My paradissi, I also enjoyed the speeches of the amazing guys from Freunde von Freunden (picture below), the presentation of the smart and inspirational sisters Toni and Thea of the online magazine Sister Mag, the über-succesful American blogger Gabrielle from design mom (did you know she was the first ever blogger to come up with a giveaway on her blog?). Before Berlin, I did not know mom-bloggers are such a big thing in Western Europe, in Berlin they have a street style blog as well: Hauptstadt Mutti.
As the only fashion blogger invited, my speech was called "What two years of fashion blogging have taught me" and my nervousness was overwhelmed by the amazing Twitter response it got, so I want to thank everyone who came to listen to it, it was my privilege!

Pre mňa osobne to určite bolo pozvanie hovoriť na The Hive - prvej európskej blogerskej konferencii v Berlíne (fotka vyššie z rannej hipsta kávy v mieste konania, Betahause) - a možnosť stretnúť všetkých tých inšpiratívnych ľudí: Radostinu z Prahy a jej fantastický medzinárodný interierový blog 79 ideas, Eleni z Grécka a jej blog o dizajne, My paradissi. Zážitkom boli prednášky od makačov Freunde von Freunden (na obrázku nižšie), prezentácia veľmi milých a šikovných sestier Toni a Thei z online magazínu Sister Mag, megaúspešná americká blogerka Gabrielle z design mom (bola prvou blogerkou, ktorá na svojom blogu ponúkla giveaway, prakticky ho vymyslela, ts). Pred Berlínom som netušila, že blogujúce mamy sú taká veľká vec v západnej Európe, v Berlíne majú dokonca vlastný street style blog: Hauptstadt Mutti.
Medzi pozvanými speakermi som bola jediná z oblasti módy a hovorila som o tom, čo ma dva roky blogovania naučili. Jasné, že som bola meganervózna a potom meganechápala z tých reakcií na Twitteri. Týmto vďaka všetkým, ktorí pri tom boli, bolo mi cťou!

2. Another very personal blogger highlight was the trip to the worldwide launch of Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collection in New York, reports from it here and here.
 Ďalším osobným highlightom bola cesta na celosvetový launch kolekcie Maison Martin Margiela for H&M v New Yorku, články z toho nájdete tu and tu.

3. Other blogger moments that made me happy: the lovely fashion blogger Eva Schön following her dream and opening her own vintage and second hand shop in Prague, Origami Fashion. Babô, the student of architecture, starting and interior and architecture blog. A male style blogger with a sense of humor. Paging Ryan :-) The tumblr page of Véčko, specially her fashion collages, love them! The first ever Slovak kid's style blog, Le Mini (okay, technically it started at the end of 2011, but made me happy in 2012 :-) The "Mothers around me" photo series by Katta. And I am sure I remember only some of it... Help me out here, did I forget something, some blogosphere highlight? Was something very special for you in 2012?

Blogerské momenty, ktoré ma minulý rok bavili: milá Eva Schön nasledovala svoj sen a v Prahe si otvorila svoj vintage a second hand butik, Origami Fashion. Babô, študentka architektúry začala písať interiérový a architektonický blog. Fashion-bloger-muž so zmyslom pre humor. Haló, Ryan :-) Tumblr stránka Véčka, špeciálne jej fashion koláže! Prvý slovenský blog pre miniľudí, Le Mini (tak dobre, technicky začal v roku 2011, ale bavil ma aj v roku 2012:-). Fotoséria "Mothers around me"  od Katty. Hmmm, som si istá, že si nepamätám všetko... Pomôžte mi, zabudla som na niečo, na nejaký top moment roku 2012? Čo bolo nezabudnuteľné pre vás v minulom roku?

Sylvia, Berlin

It's been almost a year that I have met the lovely Sylvia for the first time, that time in Bratislava. Now she lives in Berlin, so we couldn't miss a chance to catch up on a year of love, life, work and fun. I guess next time we'll meet, again in another part of world :-) Meanwhile you can follow Sylvia's Berlin adventures on her blog.
One observation about Berlin bikes: they are everywhere and anywhere, tons and tons of them, on every corner. But interestingly, we have not seen one stylish bike or a bike that would be pimped in any stylish, nostalgic or personalized way, I guess in the German sense of order, they are regarded rather as useful means of transportation or utility. Makes sense, but I missed all the photogenic bikes I am getting used to see in Bratislava :-) 

Je to takmer, takmer rok, čo sme sa prvýkrát stretli so Sylviou zlatou, vtedy poprvé v Bratislave. Teraz žije v Berlíne a tak sme si nenechali ujsť príležitosť dobehnúť rok plný lásky, práce, cestovania, života a nesmrteľnosti chrústa. Nabudúce zasa v nejakom inom kúte sveta! :-) Dovtedy môžete sledovať Sylviine berlínske dobrodružstvá na jej blogu.
Malé pozorovanie z berlínskych ulíc: bicykle sú všade, všade, všade, a je ich veľa. Ale prekvapujúco sme nevideli ani jeden extra štýlový, vypimpovaný alebo prispôsobený štýlu majiteľa, mesta, ani nijak nostalgický bicykel. O nejakých prútených košíkoch na ženských bicykloch ani nehovorím :-) Asi to však dáva zmysel v nemeckom poňatí užitočnosti vecí: bicykle sú proste úžitkový predmet, spôsob dopravy. Aj doľavy. Dáva to zmysel, ale aj tak mi chýbali fotogenické bicykle, ktoré sa čoraz častejšie objavujú v Bratislave :-)

 

The theater jacket, Berlin

Want a very unique piece with a dramatic effect (and an interesting past perhaps)? A theater jacket might do the trick. Cute dog is a plus too :-)

Hľadáte unikárny kúsok s dramatickým efektom? (a možno zaujímavou minulosťou?) Bunda z divadelného fundusu môže byť to pravé. A pes je tiež plus :-)

Mustard & Stripes, Berlin

Mustard on stripes. Mustered stripes. Striped mustard.... Anyway, I love stripes and I love mustard (even more in this oversized version), so when they are together, it means even more love. Happy Children's Day everyone! :-)

Horčicové pásiky. Horčica na pásikoch. Pásikovaná horčica... Každopádne, pásiky môžem, a môžem aj farbu horčicovú (v nadrozmernej veľkosti dokonca nadrozmerne), takže spolu generujú ešte viac lásky. Veselý deň detí prajem! :-)

Where letters go to retire, Berlin

With all the museums Berlin has to offer, we went for... yup, the Buchstabenmuseum. It is the place where old letters, fragments of neon signs or whole signs retire, where they are collected and repaired and exhibited (some in color co-ordinated small rooms). My love for typography blossomed in here (I have been looking for some time for old letters at flea markets, with no luck yet), and even though you can't buy these beauties, I recommend a visit!

So všetkými múzeami, ktoré Berlín ponúka, sme sa rozhodli pre... áno, múzeum písmenok, tzv. Buchstabenmuseum. To je miesto, kam staré písmená, časti neónových nápisov alebo celé nápisy chodia do dôchodku, a kde ich partička nadšencov reparuje, zachraňuje a vystavuje (niektoré v tematicky jednofarebných miestnostiach). Moja láska k typografii tu úplne rozkvitla (už dávno po blšákoch snorím po starých písmenách, zatiaľ neúspešne), a napriek tomu, že tu žiadne písmeno nie je na predaj, odporúčam!  

At Efa's, Berlin

During a very short stay we managed to decide on Berlin Mitte as our favorite part of town, with laid back atmosphere, local people and international crowd mixing in cool places and stylish little shops. We even found our favorite frozen yogurt place called Efa's with this beautiful girl behind the counter. I love her full bangs and her very girly, yet charmingly seducing style. True Berliner girl detail right now: jeans shorts with stockings, with the stockings line peaking out just beneath the edge of the shorts.

Počas pár dní v Berlíne sa nám podarilo vybrať si obľúbenú časť mesta: Berlin Mitte, s pohodovou atmosférou, domácimi aj zahraničnými mixujúcimi sa v milých podnikoch a štýlových malých obchodíkoch. Dokonca sme si našli obľúbené miesto s mrazeným jogurtom (nová závislosť!), ktorý sa volá Efa's, s touto očarujúcou dievčinou za pultom. Ticho jej závidím plnú ofinu a veľmi sa mi páči jej nevinno dievčenský a predsa zvodný štýl. Aktuálny detail pravých Berlínčaniek: šortky s čiernymi pančuškami, s lemom vykúkajúcim tesne pod koncom šortiek.

A couple of cameras, Berlin

I caught this lovely couple walking around Berlin Mitte and though they may appear as true Berliners, they were actually visiting from England/Scotland.

Túto dvojicu som stretla na ceste do štvrti Berlin Mitte, a aj keď na pohľad pôsobia ako úplní Berlínčania, boli práve na návšteve z Anglicka/Škótska.

A couple of coats, Berlin

It was a bit chilly the first days of our stay in Berlin, hence the coats above. You know what, I can just totally see myself and my guy wearing them, ha! Me in the black, structured, asymetrical trench and him in funky checkered coat... weeeell, we kind of have to work on that, ehm, but yes, cute couple! :-)

Po večeroch bolo napriek máju v Berlíne celkom sviežo, viď kabáty dvojice vyššie. Ináč, úúúplne si nás s mojím chlapom viem v nich predstaviť, ha! Ja v čiernom asymetrickom, štruktúrovanom trenčkote, on vo vtipne károvanom kabáte... ehm, na tom ešte musíme vlastne troška popracovať, ale hej, milá dvojica! :-)
