Ospravedlňujem sa za nedostatok príspevkov tento týždeň, makám na viacerých projektoch, medzi nimi si pripravujem príspevok na The Hive konferenciu v Berlíne. Chvíľu mi to trvalo, ale už aspoň mám jasnú tému: Čo ma naučili dva roky fashion blogingu. Tak. Možno to bude sranda :-) Držte palce ostošesť a ak o týždeň budete v Berlíne, ešte stále sa dajú kúpiť lístky!

In case you were wondering, how our apartment renovation is coming along, here you are :-) As you can see, we are about halfway through, with new floor and straight walls. And our very first future inhabitants have found their way in: the three piece set of tables from the very new IKEA PS collection (in our future colour code of white, black and light wood) and a very fine bakelite lamp from an antiques market.

Ak by vás náhodou zaujímalo, ako sa nám darí s rozbehnutou rekonštrukciou, viď obrázok vyššie :-) Sme tak na pol ceste asi, s vyliatou podlahou a vyrovnanými stenami, dokonca ja takto to vyzerá celkom k svetu, ha. Na obrázku si našli cestu do bytu aj prví buducí obyvatelia: trojstolík z novej IKEA PS kolekcie (v našej plánovanej farebnosti biela-čierna-bledé drevo) a funkčná, krásne bakelitová lampa z burzy starožitostní.

Tomáš, Košice street style

It was Tomáš who took us (Misha and me) under his wing in Košice, helped me to drag the photos and my bag from the train station, guided us through the best second hand shops and missed his night ride home... all the while being his charming and stylish self  :-)

Bol to Tomáš, ktorý nás (s Mishou) sprevádzal Košicami, pomohol mi odvliecť fotky a tašku zo stanice, preliezol s nami najlepšie sekáče a nechal si ujsť nočný spoj... to všetko vo svojom veľkom a šarmantnom štýle :-)

The lovely Anna was exactly the kind of lady I was hoping to meet in Košice. I had this childhood memory of being on a weekend working trip with my father in Košice and on Sunday morning when we had breakfast in the hotel, the café of the hotel was full of lively old ladies coming to and from church, chittchatting in Hungarian and Slovak and just looking like they stepped out of some old, elegant world. So I was happy to chittchatt with the lovely Anna (would have never guessed her 81!), a former teacher of music and piano, coming from church on a Sunday.
It was a little cold on that day in Košice, but the cherry trees were already blooming. Have a beautiful first day of May!

Milá Anna bola presne dáma, akú som dúfala, že v Košiciach stretnem. Z detstva si matne pamätám víkendový pracovný výlet s otcom do Košíc a nedeľu ráno, keď sme si v hotelovej kaviarni dávali raňajky. Kaviareň sa postupne zapĺňala staršími dámami, na ceste do a z kostola, živo diškurujúcimi v maďarčine a slovenčine a vyžarujúcimi eleganciu dávno stratených svetov. A tak som bola rada, že mi moju spomienku oživilo stretnutie s bývalou učiteľkou klavíra a hudby (nikdy by som jej nehádala jej 81!), na ceste z kostola v nedeľu doobeda.
V teň deň bolo v Košiciach ešte chladno, ale čerešne už kvitli. Prajem vám krásny prvý májový deň!

Tento štvrtok, 3. máj, je zrejme svetový deň vernisáží. Kto neverí, nech checkuje FB. Ja ich mám v pláne minimálne tri, medzi nimi Cristinu Fiorenza v SODE, sa vidíme!

Love Stuff: beige Chuck Taylor's

Meet my old and my new classic Converse sneakers: Chuck Taylor All Stars. On the left is what remained of an originally very white pair, washed over and over.... I remember buying them. It was some time in the previous millennium, so a very long time ago. And I wanted them sooo badly I bought a half size bigger pair (and my feet aren't exactly lady sized, so every extra millimeter is bad, bad, bad!). But I didn't care, I had this picture in my head of myself running around in them.
On the right is my new, beige coloured pair. Yes, beige, because I am that wild with colours, ha! I was so confused with all the colour choices (and the very cool Gorillaz and Marimekko collection!), that I panicked and instinctively picked a simple beige pair. Looking back, I could not have done better, love them so much, I even wear them with dresses and skirts, which was unthinkable some time ago! Apparently a very sunny and warm weekend is coming, so beige Chuck Taylor's all the way!

Zoznámte sa, moje nové a staré klasické Conversky: Chuck Taylor All Stars. Naľavo to, čo zostalo z pôvodne krásne bieleho páru, ktorý si už odkrútil svoje v práčke... Pamätám si, že keď som si ich niekedy v minulom tisícročí kupovala, tak veľmi, veľmi som ich chcela, že som bola schopná kúpiť si o pol čísla väčšie (a to moje nohy nie sú úplne dámičkovskej veľkosti, takže každý milimeter navyše robí nežiadaný dojem!). Ale bolo mi to jedno, v hlave som mala fixnú predstavu ako si v nich ľahkým krokom vykračujem. Niečo ako Kráľovná bielych tenisiek :-)
Napravo nový, béžový pár. Áno, béžový, a naozaj je to veľmi rozdielny odtieň od tej spratej bielej, fakt. Z veľkého výberu farieb (a veľmi funky kolekcie Gorillaz a Marimekko!) som bola taká zmätená a namäkko, že som inštiktívne siahla po béžovej. A dobre som urobila, úplne ich milujem, dokonca aj k šatom a sukniam, čo bolo predtým nepredstaviteľné! A vraj sa nám blíži krásne slnečný víkend, budem kráľovná béžových tenisiek :-)

Martina, Prague street style

Yup, I am still on the subject of hats. These pictures of Martina from the blog Danny Rose were taken some time ago for a project that didn't quite work out (no, it really isn't possible to do endless amounts of projects at the same time. Yes, lesson learned...), but I really wanted to show them to you, because I just love her effortlessly chic style. AND she photographs so beautifully :-)

Áno, ešte stále som v klobúkovej téme. Tieto fotky Martiny z blogu Danny Rose vznikli už pred nejakým časom pre projekt, ktorý sa mi nepodarilo úplne úspešne ukončiť (je to tak, naozaj sa nedajú žonglovať nekonečné množstvá projektov naraz, poučila som sa...), každopádne som vám ich chcela ukázať, pretože nie často stretávate ľudí, ktorí dokážu byť chic s takou ľahkosťou a nadhľadom. A NAVYŠE, radosť ju fotiť :-)
