For the love of turban, at Fashion LIVE!

An interesting mix going on here - kind of retro, but still timeless - with the sunglasses and the slightly oversized trench, big jewellery and that turban. Maybe that's one thing I should try till the end of this year, though it might end up as a disaster... Youtube tutorial, where are you? :-)

Na tejto fotke ma baví zaujímavý mix elementov, ktoré tvoria taký retro a zároveň nadčasový dojem - tie slnečné okuliare, troška oversized trenčkot, veľký náhrdelník a ten turban. To je asi ešte tá vec, čo by som mala vrámci tohto roka vyskúšať, uviazať turban, aj keď za výsledok neručím... Youtube tutorial, kde si? :-)

Mirror, mirror on the move

I happily took part in IKEA's PS On the move campaign introducing the PS IKEA 2014 collection, for people on the move. So me! (Expect when sitting in front of my computer all night.) ANYWAY, I really loved the round mirror so I took the beauty with me from where it was first displayed - at Bratislava Design Week. And this is what the mirror saw on the way, until it has found its new home at....

S radosťou som sa zúčastnila kampane On the move, predstavujúcej novú IKEA PS 2014 kolekciu pre ľudí a domovy, ktoré sú stále v pohybe. Úúúplne ja! (Teda s výnimkou dní a nocí, ktoré trávim pred kompom, že.) Každopádne, dizajnové zrkadlo v kombinácii so svetlým drevom ma dostalo a tak som si tú krásu zobrala so sebou z miesta, kde sa nachádzalo - Bratislava Design Weeku. A toto je malý report toho čo zrkadlo po ceste videlo, až kým nenašlo svoj nový domov...

Michaela, at Fashion LIVE! 2014

There was an interesting moment during Fashion LIVE! when one of the Eva Fashion Awards jury members, journalist and fashion PR expert (and professor) Dana Lapšanská was talking to a bunch of fashion design students from the Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín. After a while she started critically eyeing them and asking: are you wearing your own design? After that she told me that it's one of the things she insist on them doing - trying on the clothes they design in real life and at the same time representing their own work.
Well, Michaela, here, is one of the fashion design students in Zlín. And while I was taking her picute on the first day, she was wearing her own (beautifully simple, kimono-inspired) clothes. Check!

Počas Fashion LIVE! som zachytila jeden zaujímavý moment, keď sa jedna z porotcov Eva Fashion Awards, novinárka, PR odborníčka a profesorka módy Dana Lapšanská pýtala skupinky študentov módneho dizajnu z Univerzity Tomáša Baťu v Zlíne, či majú na sebe vlastné modely. Neskôr mi povedala, že to je jedna z vecí, na ktorej pri študentoch trvá - aby nosili a testovali svoje modely naživo a zároveň tak reprezentovali svoju prácu.
Michaela, tu na fotkách, je tiež jednou zo študentiek módneho dizajnu v Zlíne. A keď som ju fotila, mála na sebe svoje (krásne jednoduché, kimonom inšpirované) veci. Check!

Coming through: Alexander Wang x H&M

When the Alexander Wang for H&M collaboration was announced, I instantly imagined something along the very casual, but well layered and well cut, minimalistic and laid-back T by Alexander Wang line, which made me feel warm inside, and I also instantly imagined how my wallet is going to hurt.
And then came the collection. Not at all anything I expected. But very on trend. Very sporty, all black and grey, very tough, but kind of sexy (God, did I just use the word "sexy"?!) at the same time. I have watched the launch show in New York online and saw this racetrack and an army of crossfit gods and goddesses with black tapes and flat stomachs and wide shoulders walk it. It was very impressive.
Now, let me tell you that I kind of neglected my workout regime lately and you wouldn't caught me dead in the skin-tight ladies outfits. But the men's collection, that is something - big sweats, jackets with hoodies, anoraks. All tough, funtional material. Plus the accessories are fun, like if you're looking for your perfect black leather backpack, you just found it. The collection launches on the 6th of November at 10 a.m. at Eurovea. Keď bola oznámená aktuálna dizajnérska kolaborácia Alexander Wang for H&M, mne v hlave okamžite naskočili obrázky takej tej pohodovej, krásne vrstvenej kolekcie dobrých strihov a minimalistického dizajnu v lahodiacich neutrálnych farbách á la línia T by Alexander Wang. Tá predstava mi robila dobre, aj keď som si zároveň nevyhutne musela predstaviť, koľko ma to bude stáť. 
A potom prišla tá kolekcia. Úplne iná ako som očakávala. Ale zároveň absolútne trendy. Veľmi športová, čisto čierno-šedá, s takou bojovnejšou, drsnejšou energiou, ale zároveň svojím spôsobom sexi (že pardón, fakt lepšie slovo ako "sexi" mi nenapadá). Uvádzaciu show v New Yorku som si pozrela online a dokonalosť tej prehliadky bola chytľavá. Pretekárska dráha ako mólo, na nej bohovia a bohyne z cross-fitu s čiernymi "tejpami" na dokonalých telách, širokých ramenách a plochých bruchách.
A potom som si spomenula ako môj trénigový režim už pár mesiacov nestíha pracovnému tempu a úprimne, do priliehavej dámskej kolekcie by ste ma ani náhodou nedostali. Ale pánske, to je iné - veľké mikiny, bundy s kapucňami, parky. Všetko pevné, funkčné materiály. A doplnky sú zábavné tiež, napríklad ak hľadáte dokonalý čierny koženy ruksak, ten práve v tej kolekcii je. Uvedená bude 6. novembra od 10.00 hod. v Eurovea. Fashion LIVE! 2014: Jana Kuzmová

This was truly one of the most beautiful and put-together collections Fashion LIVE! has seen this year. Based on photographs by Karol Plicka and shape-wise inspired by folk costumes. The black colours stand for the black soil and the hard work, while the white and flowery light tones for the new life and flowers that blossom from the black soil. There is a slight Slovak melancholy in the air, which was present also during the show (see the video here). You can watch Janka talk about the collection in this video we shot for Fashion LIVE!

Toto bola jedna z najkrajších a najkompaktnejších kolekcií tohtoročného Fashion LIVE! Inšpirovaná fotografiami Karola Plicku a folklórnymi tvarmi a vrstvením. Čierne farby sú metaforou čiernej zeme a ťažkej práce, kým svetlé tóny a kvetované motívy reprezentujú krásu a nový život, ktorý rastie z čiernej zeme. Celá kolekcia nesie v sebe takú jemnú slovenskú melanchóliu, ktorú bolo cítiť aj počas prehliadky (video z nej si môžete pozrieť tu). Alebo si pozrite Janku ako krásne hovorí o kolekcii vo videu, ktoré sme natočili pre Fahion LIVE!

Come on, how beautiful is this outfit above?! And I got to try on the big chunky piece of poncho on the picture below. You can see it on Instagram here. What do you think? Some called it a blanket or a carpet, but I think it is just perfect.

Prestrihaný kabátik a sukňa na fotke vyššie je čistá nádhera. Ja som neodolala tomu, vyskúšať si maxipončo na fotke nižšie. Na Instagrame tu aha. Čo myslíte? Niekto tomu nadáva do obrusu, iný do koberca. Pre mňa dokonalosť!

Monika, at Fashion LIVE!

One of my favorite ways to bundle up right now : wearing your scarf (the bigger, the better) thrown over your shoulders, tied with a belt (but keep the backside out of the belt, so you can move your hands freely. Easy, done. Love the simple structure of this one, seen on Monika, with the golden details on the belt.

Jeden z momentálne najobľúbenejších spôsobov zateplenia: šál (čím väčší, tým lepšie), prehodený cez ramená, zopnutý opaskom (zadnú časť z opaska vynechajte, aby ste mohli hýbať rukami. Ta-dám, hotovo. Na tomto Monikinom ma baví jednoduchá štruktúra, a ktomu zlaté detaily opaska.

Fashion LIVE! 2014: Lenka Sršňová

Colorcode is the name of Lenka Sršňová's latest collection and it perked up the whole audience at Stará Tržnica. As someone sitting next to me said: "awww, she is all grown up now". Well, fact is that the Colorcode collection certainly seemed to combine two things: Lenka's love for colour and a more sophisticated approach to shapes. It is still crazily colourful, but in a more ladylike way. Created in co-operation with textile designer Michaela Bednárová, I certainly think it has the chance to appeal to a bigger chunk of the mass market. Looking forward seeing it in the streets!

Colorcode je názov kolekcie, ktorú Lenka Sršňová predviedla na Fashion LIVE! a ktorá rozveselila publikum. Pričom vedla mňa niekto poznamenal: "tak už nám tá Lenka vyrástla". Každopádne, faktom je, že kolekcia podarene skombinovala dve veci: Lenkinu lásku k výraznej farebnosti, so sofistikovanejšími strihmi a tvarmi. Stále je to divožienka Lenka, len taká troška dospelejšia. Kolekcia vznikala v spolupárci s textilnou dizajnérkou Miškou Bednárovou, a mám pocit, že má celkom slušnú šancu zaujať širší okruh ľudí. Teším sa na ňu v uliciach!

Fashion LIVE! 2014: Marcel Holubec W

 

Next up: some of my favorite moments and collections from Fashion LIVE! Closing day one was Marcel Holubec with his new collecion, obviously inspired by his longer stay in Paris. The most trendy collection ever seen from him was spot on, appealing to today's desire for easy, functional, lightweight sportiness, and sent out an army of urban nomads. Marcel's trademark sense of sophisticated cut and shape got mixed with lightweight, perforated, cut through or pleated materials, evoking lightness of movement. The styling added the element of funcionality, hence the sneakers, headphones and mp3 players/phones. This is the city at your feat and in your hands.

A teraz: momenty a kolekcie, ktoré ma tohtoročnom Fashion LIVE! najviac dostali. Prvý deň uzatváral Marcel Holubec so svojou novou kolekciou, citeľne inšpirovanou niekoľkomesačným pobytom v Paríži. Najtrendovejšia kolekcia, akú som od neho videla, trafila presne aktuálne životné pocity a túžby po športovosti, ľahkosti a funkčnosti, a poslala na mólo armádu mestských nomádov. Marcel svoj tradičný cit pre premyslené strihy a tvary spároval s ľahkým, perforovaným, prestrihaným alebo skladaným materiálom, evokujúcim pohodu pohybu, a v stajlingu dodal element funkcionality: tenisky, slúchadlá a mp3 prehrávače/telefóny. Mesto v nohách a na dlani.

Janka, at Fashion LIVE!

This is the girl from the first picture in the previous post, and I really wanted to show you this photo as well. It was getting a bit dark outside the shows and I wasn't sure if the picture will come out good, but in the end I love it. Love how chic this simple shirt-dress look is. And the natural waves of the combed back hair, very French, of corz!
Janka is the Editor-in-Chief of TOP Fashion magazine, who are continuously doing a good job at being a top fashion magazine. Shocker :-)

Toto je dievča z prvej fotky z predošlého článku, a ja som vám ju chcela ukázať aj zblízka. Aj preto, lebo v tom čase sa už medzi prehliadkami zmrákalo a ja som si nebola istá, či tá fotka ešte vyjde... a tá úľava, keď po vyvolaní zistíte, že áno. Na fotke ma baví Jankine chic vyžarovanie. Jednoduché šaty košeľového strihu a prirodzené, po bokoch uhladené vlasy, to je tak francúzske, of kórz!
Janka je šéfredaktorkou magazínu TOP Fashion, ktorému sa kontinuálne darí robiť prácu top fashion magazínu. 

Fashion LIVE! 2014 moments

The second annual Fashion LIVE! event has been held again in the beautiful building of Stará Tržnica. Three days packed with fashion shows of the best fashion design in Slovakia (with some V4 guests and students) has to offer. Despite being held during the week, and thanks to the free entrance, lots of spectators and a fashionable crowed turned up. The three days were colouful, emotional, with some great surprises and small hiccups, so that next year can be even better. 

Here a few pictures from the atmosphere. Next up will be the shows, the fashion, and some streetstyle.

Druhý ročník módneho podujatia Fashion LIVE! sa konal zasa v krásnych priestoroch Starej Tržnice. Tri dni plné prehliadok toho najlepšieho, čo slovenská móda (s hosťami z krajín V4 a študentami dvoch krajín) ponúka. Napriek tomu, že sa akcia konala počas týždňa, ale vďaka voľnému vstupu pre každého, Tržnica sa k večeru vždy zaplnila divákmi a skupinkami štýlových návštevníkov. Tri dni boli farebné, emočné, s krásnymi prekvapeniami a malými nedostatkami, aby mali organizátori čo vylepšovať ďalší rok, ktorí bude zasa ešte lepší. 

Tu pár momentov z atmosféry troch dní. Ďalšie príspevky budú o prehliadkach, móde a nejakom tom street style.

The Eva Fashion Awards jury included: fashion marketing expert Peter Šagát (above), writer and fashion icon Tamara Heribanová (below), fashion journalist and PR expert Dana Lapšanská, Exit Model Management Director Andrej Taraba, photographer and art director of EVA magazine Anton Karpita and myself, representing the blogosphere. It's been a wonderful three days in the jury, I am thankful for the amazing time!

V porote Eva Fashion Awards zasadli: vysokoškolský profesor v oblasti Fashion Marketing Peter Šagát (na fotke vyššie), spisovateľka a slovenská módna ikona Tamara Heribanová (na fotke nižšie), módna novinárka a odborníčka na PR a marketing Dana Lapšanská, riaditeľ Exit Model Management Andrej Taraba, fotograf a art director časopisu EVA, Anton Karpita, a ja, za blogerský svet. Boli to tri krásne dni s porotou a ja som vďačná za tento zážitok.
